a tarantula bite could cause a death in someone with comorbidity's. someone with a heart condition or prone to strokes, people on dialysis. it might not kill alone but may send someone over the edgue

I have been tagged by my adult female Heteroscodra Maculata and it burned like crazy my finger swelled up like 3 times normal size, immediately after being tagged it felt like someone smashed my finger with a hammer and then set it on fire, it didn't make me sick at all but the pain lasted a good 12 hours and the swelling subsided after about a week, no long term problems at all. Same with my adult female P. Ornata lots of pain and swelling but no long term effect's. It may be different for other people but I don't react too bad to their venom.

Hi Mate, I agree pokies are beautiful spiders,and I would put them at the top on terms or looks,and just the way they are,stunning spiders.Ive had threat postures but never been bitten,and most of this comes down to the owner ! Tarantulas are not aggressive,and will not hunt you down,but if you provoke them,or arent respecrfull that this is a wild animal,and even if CB,it still have wild instincts! So you need to give full respect and if you do get bitten then you need to question what you did wrong! Again "STUNNING" spiders !! I have a Poecilotheria Striata,and an Ornata,and have owned a P. Metallica,gooty saphire. Now I have a question. My striata,and Ornata are only young,not even Juveniles yet.The Striata will not come out from his hide,and VERY shy.The ornata is a female and beautifull ! But again is very shy,and not keen on walking around much.She has just molted,so I need to give her some time,as I've only had her a week.The striata is a male,and hasn't even eaten yet,neither has the ornata. Do they take awhile to settle in,before they are happy enough to eat,would you say? Temperature is good,around 80f,both have good terrariums,with ventilation and cork to climb. But they are just doing NOTHING lol. The only time they showed themselves was when I first got them,and put them into larger enclosures,and the walked around abit,the ornate anyway,at nightime when it was dark. Can you give some pointers on their behaviour,as they are you and not doing alot! These T'S are up there,and you dont want to mess with them,and have my full respect !! And I ceryain8wont allow myself to get bitten by them ! The Striata is VERY VERY fast !!! Almost on the point of being uncomfortable. They are very skittish and certainly keep you wired whenever you go anywhere near them and in their enclosure!! The Ornata when fully grown is just Something else !! After its recent molt,the purple,yellow,blue and even green colours displayed are breathtaking!!!!

I already know everything you said but your video is great, so I still watched it all. Really well done. Personally to anyone consudering one I would say Pokies are the best and worth the risk.

oh wow that was really nice to record it hissing lol. maybe she didnt like going in the post and was in a bad mood. i love my ceratogyruses theyre pretty calm and not aggressive, probably the friendliest outve my old world spiders. but also they are a bit smaller than this. what do they use to stridulate with? I thought it would be leg or pedipalp stuff but when she did little hisses outside the tube it looked like she was moving her chelicerae
